A History of Himiway : A Leading E-Bike Brand

Founding and Early Years (2017 - 2019)

Himiway was founded in 2017 by Mike Magaruh with the vision of revolutionizing the electric bike industry by offering high-performance, long-range, and durable e-bikes. The company was originally established in China, which remains its primary manufacturing base. However, Himiway quickly expanded its operations to North America and Europe, making a name for itself in the e-bike market.

Before starting Himiway, Magaruh spent time traveling across Asia to study e-bike manufacturers and suppliers. His goal was to understand what made the best e-bikes stand out and how to improve upon existing designs. This research laid the foundation for Himiway’s signature models fat tyre electric bikes built for long-range and all-terrain riding.

In its early years, Himiway focused on engineering and designing rugged e-bikes that could handle rough terrains while offering superior mileage per charge. The company positioned itself as a “long-range expert,” aiming to build bikes that surpassed competitors in battery performance.

Expansion and Product Development (2019 - 2022)

Himiway’s first major success came with the launch of the Himiway Cruiser, an all-terrain fat tire e-bike. The Cruiser quickly gained popularity, particularly in the United States, due to its durability, affordability, and ability to handle off-road trails as well as urban streets.

With the success of the Cruiser, Himiway expanded its product line to include:

  • Himiway Zebra – A more powerful, upgraded version of the Cruiser.
  • Himiway Big Dog – A cargo e-bike designed for carrying heavy loads.
  • Himiway Escape – A moped-style e-bike for urban commuting.
  • Himiway Cobra & Cobra Pro – Full-suspension electric mountain bikes for extreme off-road riding.
  • Himiway Rambler – A lightweight city commuter e-bike.

Himiway distinguished itself from competitors by prioritizing battery life and range.

Many of its models could travel 60-80 miles on a single charge, about 43% more than most competing brands. This commitment to extended range resonated with customers who needed reliable e-bikes for long-distance commuting or outdoor adventures.

By 2021, Himiway had firmly established itself in North America and Europe, shipping thousands of e-bikes worldwide. The company gained attention from cycling enthusiasts, adventure riders, and even daily commuters looking for eco-friendly alternatives to cars.

Service Expansion and Industry Recognition (2023 – Present)

As demand for Himiway e-bikes continued to rise, the company took steps to improve customer service and technical support. In January 2024, Himiway USA unveiled its first official service center to enhance e-bike maintenance standards. This move was aimed at providing faster repairs, troubleshooting assistance, and an overall better customer experience.

Himiway’s dedication to quality and customer feedback helped it gain recognition as a leading global e-bike brand. The company remains focused on innovation, regularly updating its line-up with new models and improved battery technology.

In addition to expanding its product range, Himiway has also engaged in community-building efforts, hosting events, ride-along meetups, and promotional campaigns that encourage.
